This is a skills-based growth opportunity for an individual with an interest in learning to become a certified diesel technician.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, and maintain balance for extensive periods. Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs from 0” to 36” and carry objects up to 50 feet; occasionally lift up to 80 lbs. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crawl frequently to work on vehicles and equipment. Ability to frequently twist, push, and pull from a variety of positions. Ability to grip and grasp mechanic tools and parts. Manipulative skills and dexterity to operate equipment and hand tools. Ability to frequently climb to get in vehicles, on a step ladder to reach the engine compartment and stairs. The ability to climb and work up to 15” above ground may be required. Ability to reach frequently overhead as well as horizontally while lying on back.
Environmental working conditions vary; trainees may encounter vibration, noise, odors, extremes in temperature and wind, varied weather, varied surfaces, sharp edges, varied lighting and confined and congested areas, and occasional exposure to petroleum-based products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, oil and grease, detergent cleaning solutions, dust, fumes, and chemicals.
