Service Technician Responsibilities

• Performs work specified on the repair order efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards
• Documents repair orders with findings, results, and corrections to remain compliant with manufacturer guidelines
• Inspects vehicles for safety and maintenance needs such as worn brakes or tires
• Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
• Provides an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Reads Ford workshop manuals and executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
• Provides detailed data and comments on how root causes of failures were found
• Clearly communicates findings and repairs to service staff
• Completes BG Services, fluid exchanges, alignments, and other related maintenance services

Service Technician Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Service Technician
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
• Knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
• Ability to learn quickly and provide top-notch customer service
• Basic Computer Skills, able to type with ease
• Great teammate with a positive attitude, enjoys the automotive industry
• Clean and valid driver’s license
• Ensures customer cars are kept clean
• Maintains an orderly and clean stall
• Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures and specifications
