The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based, customer-facing employee, primarily working inside hospitals. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment used in surgical procedures, as well as providing installation support on complex mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic units. This role focuses on STERIS's main line of OEM equipment (Washers and Sterilizers), our largest equipment portfolio, and the core of our company's foundation. Come advance your career with us!

This is a remote, customer-facing position. To support and service our customers in this territory, candidates must be based in Iowa.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment, systems, and components.
  2. Manage time effectively by prioritizing customer and business needs independently to complete PMs, service calls, warranty calls, installations, upgrades, and other duties.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate issues and utilize technology platforms to ensure compliance and document troubleshooting.
  4. Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options; build relationships with sales to enhance customer experience and identify sales opportunities.
  5. Support various locations within the assigned territory based on service agreements and customer needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant work experience; 2 years in a mechanical/technical role. Additional certifications or military experience may be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and physical requirements for credentialing.
  • Strong customer service and team engagement skills.
  • Effective communication skills, basic computer skills, and flexibility for schedule changes.
  • Ability to meet hospital and customer credentialing requirements.
