Job summary

Pavion is seeking a talented and motivated Service Technician to join our fire business unit in Richmond, Virginia. You will service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems for customers across multiple industries and ensure systems are functional.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 5+ years’ experience with alarm and security systems, and a valid driver’s license. You will diagnose issues, replace components, and coordinate with the team.

Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, and inspect fire alarm systems.
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational.
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems.

• Provide technical support to Customers including remote diagnosis.
• Interact professionally with customers.
• Coordinate with Manager and dispatcher to complete work orders.
• Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Service Technician to join our fire business unit.

Primary Responsibilities

• Service, Program, Test, and Inspect Fire Alarm Systems
• Ensure equipment is functional and operational
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair
• Replace system components as assigned; panels, audible/visual alarms, etc.
• Provide technical support to Customers including, remote phone diagnosis, and troubleshooting of signal issues related to formats and receivers
• Interact professionally with customers
• Coordinate with Manager and dispatcher for the purpose of completing service and work orders efficiently
• Inform dispatcher and or manager the status of service to take appropriate action
• Maintains assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years’ experience in installing or servicing burglar alarm, fire alarm, closed circuit television, access control systems
• Knowledgeable about working on fire alarm and security systems. Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and inspecting
• This position requires regular driving to customer and project sites. A valid driver’s license is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Alarm System Notifier experience including troubleshooting and programming

The hourly pay range for this position is $30.00–$40.00 per hour. The starting hourly pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
