Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician
We are seeking experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Commercial HVAC/R Service Technicians to join our growing team. If you take pride in troubleshooting complex systems, delivering quality workmanship, and providing exceptional customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
Compensation: $30.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday–Friday; overtime, on-call rotation, and weekends as needed.
Work Location: Local travel to customer sites.
Position Summary
The Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and servicing commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, system modifications, overhauls, and equipment start-ups.
- Diagnose rooftop package units (RTUs), split systems, ventilation systems, DX systems, and related HVAC equipment.
- Diagnose equipment failures using appropriate testing instruments and perform necessary repairs.
- Repair and replace electrical components, including control wiring and high-voltage circuits.
- Service refrigeration equipment, including rack systems, walk-in coolers and freezers, and ice machines.
- Service water-cooled and air-cooled chillers.
- Repair, rebuild, install, and replace pumps.
- Complete service documentation accurately and promptly.
- Work collaboratively with fellow technicians while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and work overtime or weekends as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Self-motivated with effective time management skills.
- Ability to complete required service reports and paperwork accurately.
- Willingness to travel locally to customer locations.
- Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.

- Commercial rooftop units (RTUs) up to 100 tons
- Water-cooled chillers
- Air-cooled chillersDX systems up to 100 tons
- Refrigeration rack systems
- Walk-in coolers and freezers
- Pumps (rebuilds, installation, and replacement)
- Ice machines
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- EPA Certification (Type I & Type II required; Universal Certification preferred)
License Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Acceptable driving record
