Pico Propane and Fuels in Odessa, TX is seeking an experienced Service Technician with a CDL. You will install, repair, and maintain propane/fuel equipment and perform safe deliveries, while delivering high-quality customer service.

The role requires multitasking, a positive attitude, and strict adherence to safety standards to protect customers and team members. Candidate must be able to work outdoors and drive a commercial vehicle, with strong communication skills and a commitment to building

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL A or B required.
• TX RRC certification within 12 months if not already certified.
• Service Technician experience preferred.
• Ability to use GPS/navigation tools.
• Strong problem-solving and on-site repair skills.
• Must be able to lift 10–100 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customers' homes or business locations.
• Prep, stage and install tanks for new customers.
• Repair equipment such as LP furnaces, water heaters and LP appliances.
• Provide guidance on equipment placement and safety instructions.
• Conduct site surveys and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Test installations and verify connections for safety and performance.
• Maintain equipment and keep work area clean after each job.
• Record stock levels and maintain vehicle maintenance and logs.

Job Summary

Pico Propane and Fuels in Odessa, TX is seeking an experienced Service Technician with a CDL. The service technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of propane/fuel equipment, in addition to providing propane and/or refined fuel deliveries in a safe and efficient manner, with a key focus on customer satisfaction. To ensure success, one must have a willingness to multitask, a passion for customer service and the aspiration to be involved with building a local business. This will require excellent communication skills, a positive attitude in the face of challenges and the ability to execute on identified solutions. Above all else, personal safety and the safety of our customers must take on the highest priority.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Travels to customers' homes or place of business
• Prep, stage and Installs tanks for new customers
• Repairs equipment such as LP Furnaces, Water Heaters, LP appliances
• Suggests areas where equipment should be set up
• Site surveys
• Troubleshoots problems with existing equipment
• Tests old and new installation along with testing connections
• Provides customers with verbal and written operating instructions for new equipment
• Maintains equipment and cleans up after the job is complete
• Records and maintains stock levels
• Maintains the work vehicle and general maintenance of the vehicle

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Service Technician highly preferred
• Advanced knowledge of propane and refined fuel systems
• Ability to obtain TX RRC service and installation certification within twelve (12) months of employment (if not already certified)
• Ability to solve problems and repair equipment on site
• Ability to effectively and efficiently use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
• Ability to maintain accurate logs and records
• Ability to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervision
• Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Willingness to learn , grow, and uphold a customer focused culture that continually strives to exceed expectations
• Support growth and retention efforts

Education, Certification, Licenses Required

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• CDL A or B required
• Service Technician License, highly preferred but not required

Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Physical, Mental, and Behavioral Requirements

Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms Must be able to speak and hear Position is subject to pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company provider Must pass pre-employment screening and background check Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes, airborne particles and gases is common.
