Meritum Energy in Odessa, TX is seeking an experienced Service Technician with a CDL. The service technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of propane and fuel equipment, in addition to delivering propane and refined fuels safely and efficiently, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• CDL A or B required.
• Service Technician License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customers' homes or places of business.
• Prep, stage and install tanks for new customers.
• Repair equipment such as LP furnaces, water heaters, LP appliances.
• Site surveys and recommendations for equipment placement.
• Troubleshoot problems with existing equipment.
• Test installations and connections.

Job Summary

Pico Propane and Fuels in Odessa, TX is seeking an experienced Service Technician with a CDL. The service technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of propane/fuel equipment, in addition to providing propane and/or refined fuel deliveries in a safe and efficient manner, with a key focus on customer satisfaction.

To ensure success, one must have a willingness to multitask, a passion for customer service and the aspiration to be involved with building a local business. This will require excellent communication skills, a positive attitude in the face of challenges and the ability to execute on identified solutions. Above all else, personal safety and the safety of our customers must take on the highest priority.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Travels to customers' homes or place of business
• Prep, stage and Installs tanks for new customers
• Repairs equipment such as LP Furnaces, Water Heaters, LP appliances
• Suggests areas where equipment should be set up Site surveys
• Troubleshoots problems with existing equipment
• Tests old and new installation along with testing connections
• Provides customers with verbal and written operating instructions for new equipment
• Maintains equipment and cleans up after the job is complete
• Records and maintains stock levels
• Maintains the work vehicle and general maintenance of the vehicle

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proven work experience as a Service Technician highly preferred
• Advanced knowledge of propane and refined fuel systems
• Ability to obtain TX RRC service and installation certification within twelve (12) months of employment (if not already certified)
• Ability to solve problems and repair equipment on site
• Ability to effectively and efficiently use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
• Ability to maintain accurate logs and records
• Ability to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervision
• Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Willingness to learn , grow, and uphold a customer focused culture that continually strives to exceed expectations
• Support growth and retention efforts

Education, Certification, Licenses Required

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• CDL A or B required
• Service Technician License, highly preferred but not required
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Physical, Mental, And Behavioral Requirements

• Position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 10 to 100 lbs. for approximately 90% of the work shift.
• Ability to regularly climb in and out of a commercial motor vehicle, multiple times per work shift
• Good hand eye coordination, arm hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment is required, including at night.
• Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms
• Must be able to speak and hear
• Position is subject to pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company provider
• Must pass pre-employment screening and background check
• Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed
• Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes, airborne particles and gases is common.
