Job summary

Vermeer Midwest seeks a Service Technician for heavy equipment in Goodfield, IL. This full-time, day-shift role focuses on inspection, maintenance, and repairs of directional drills, trenchers, excavators, and more to keep equipment operating safely.

You will diagnose electrical and hydraulic issues, perform preventive maintenance, complete service tickets, and communicate with customers. A high school diploma or GED is required; 2–5 years of field experience or a tech training program is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-5 years of experience repairing heavy equipment or completion of a formal technical training program.
• Agricultural experience.
• Hands-on experience with electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated, safety-conscious, and time management skills.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with diagnostic tools.
• CDL Class B or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair heavy-duty equipment such as directional drills, trenchers, brush chippers, excavators, aerial lifts, and more.
• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues using computerized tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs using hand and power tools.
• Clean, lubricate, test, and troubleshoot equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
• Complete service tickets and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Communicate repair status with customers and collaborate with fellow technicians as needed.
• Fill in as a Field Service Tech on an as needed basis.

What You’ll Do
