Job summary

Vermeer Midwest is seeking a Field Service Technician for Goodfield, IL. This role involves mobile service, diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, and performing preventive maintenance in the Central Illinois area. You will operate from a company truck and travel to customer sites.

We require 2-5 years of hands-on repair experience, strong mechanical/electrical/hydraulic knowledge, and a valid CDL A or ability to obtain one. Excellent communication and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience repairing heavy-duty vehicles or equipment.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and welding (acetylene and arc).
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex on-site issues.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel locally and work independently.
• CDL Class A or ability to obtain one.

What You’ll Do

As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be the go-to expert for customers in the Central Illinoisarea. This hands-on, mobile role involves:

• Traveling to customer sites in a company-provided service truck
• Diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment and vehicles
• Performing inspections and preventive maintenance
• Keeping accurate maintenance records
• Working independently and managing your schedule efficiently

What You Bring
