Job summary

Pavion is seeking a Service Technician to join our fire business unit in New York, NY. You will install, service, and test fire alarm systems while ensuring documentation and training for customers.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in fire alarm service, NFPA knowledge, and NFPA 101 familiarity. Notifier, DMP, Bosch, Fire-Lite and Honeywell experience is preferred; NY CFD S-98 certification is required. On-call and overtime may be needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with fire alarm service.
• Knowledge of NFPA National Fire Alarm Codes.
• Knowledge of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.
• Familiar with testing and maintenance of sprinkler systems.
• Notifier, DMP, Bosch, Fire-Lite and Honeywell knowledge preferred.
• Must be available for on-call and willing to work overtime.
• NYCFD S-98 certificate required.
• Knowledge of programming.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Installation, Service and Testing of Fire Alarm and Burglar Alarm Systems.
• Provide customers with required equipment documentation and Training.
• If applicable, install and upgrade all new systems as required by the manufacturer.
• Complete Installation of Systems in an efficient and profitable manner.
• Supervising various electrical contractors during installation of AFA-Notifier equipment at JFK terminals.

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Service Technician to join our fire business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Installation, Service and Testing of Fire Alarm and Burglar Alarm Systems
• Provide customers with required equipment documentation and Training
• If applicable, install and upgrade all new systems as required by the manufacturer
• Complete Installation of Systems in an efficient and profitable manner
• Supervising various electrical contractors as they install AFA-Notifier fire alarm equipment for all of the tenant spaces, and core systems. at JFK (Terminal 1 and Terminal 6) including billable and non-billable trouble shooting and testing.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years experience with fire alarm service
• Knowledge of NFPA- National Fire Alarm Codes
• Knowledge of NFPA 101- Life Safety Code
• Familiar with Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Sprinkler System and Water-Based Protection
• Technicians are to perform their duties in a safe and professional manner
• Notifier, DMP, Bosch, Fire-Lite and Honeywell overall knowledge preferred
• Must be available for on-call and willing to work overtime
• NYCFD S-98 certificate required
• Knowledge of programming
• Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• Alarm System Notifier experience including troubleshooting and programming

The hourly pay range for this position is $30 to $45 per hour . The starting hourly pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
