Job summary

Mossy Auto Group is seeking experienced Service Technicians to join our high-volume shop. Our technicians inspect, service and prepare new and used vehicles to factory and dealership standards.

This position offers a base hourly wage between $34 and $45 plus a productivity bonus up to $50 per hour, with opportunities for career advancement, ongoing training, and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated automotive background and ability to work in a fast-paced shop.
• Ability to read and comprehend service instructions and repair orders.
• Clean driving record and valid California driver’s license.
• ASE certifications are a plus and preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current models and repair procedures.
• Perform repairs and services efficiently as per repair orders.
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to verify repairs.
• Communicate with Service Advisor on time estimates and additional work.
• Complete repairs under warranty to manufacturer specs.

The Service Technician inspects, services, & prepares new & used vehicles according to factory & dealership standards, policies & specifications. The Service Technician Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly and Flag Rate Compensation of between $34.00 and $45.00, plus a productivity bonus equivalent up to a maximum hourly rate of $50.00 per hour based on individual performance.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining up to date technical knowledge of current models and used vehicles sufficient to effectively communicate with service & sales staff
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
• Complying with all applicable company and legal requirements controlling vehicle repairs

Qualifications

• ASE certifications are ideal
• Strong automotive background
• Strong teamwork skills
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Must have clean & valid driver's license
• OEM certifications are encouraged!
• Ability to exercise good judgment
• Technical or trade school degree preferred
• Clean driving record/ valid CA drivers license.
