Job summary

Mossy Auto Group in Chula Vista, CA is seeking experienced Service Technicians for our high-volume, fast-paced shop. You will inspect, service, and prepare new and used vehicles to factory and dealership standards, ensuring timely, quality work and customer satisfaction.

We offer a pay scale with base hourly $34.00–$45.00 plus a productivity bonus up to $50.00 per hour, plus benefits such as medical/dental/vision, 401(k), paid vacation, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• ASE certifications are ideal.
• Strong automotive background and teamwork skills required.
• Must have a clean and valid California driver’s license.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current models and services.
• Perform repairs efficiently per repair order and dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems (engine, trans, electrical, brakes, etc.).
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional repairs and timelines.

The Service Technician inspects, services, & prepares new & used vehicles according to factory & dealership standards, policies & specifications. The Service Technician Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly and Flag Rate Compensation of between $34.00 and $45.00, plus a productivity bonus equivalent up to a maximum hourly rate of $50.00 per hour based on individual performance.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining up to date technical knowledge of current models and used vehicles sufficient to effectively communicate with service & sales staff
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
• Complying with all applicable company and legal requirements controlling vehicle repairs

Qualifications

• OEM certifications are encouraged!
• Ability to exercise good judgment
• Technical or trade school degree preferred
• Clean driving record/ valid CA drivers license.
