Job summary

Brandeis Machinery and Supply Co. seeks a Leadman to take a lead role in scoping, troubleshooting, and coordinating service jobs. The role includes customer communication, parts liaison, and hands-on inspections with customers and our product support team.

You will travel to job sites, participate in training, and assist in training new technicians. A strong background in heavy equipment and fault diagnosis is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent; a 2-year technical degree or comparable military training preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the heavy equipment industry or related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication and basic math skills.
• Proficient with a computer, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., and diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

JOB REQUIREMENTS:The Leadman will take a lead role including job scoping, troubleshooting, communication with customers and internal personnel, parts liaison and general coordination of the completion of service jobs.Become familiar with the proper operation and application of equipment that we sell and support and be able to assist customers and other techniciansPerform hands-on inspections of machines with customers and our own product support personnel when required.Perform and or assist with new machine pre-delivery and assembly when required.Travel to customer’s job site when required (including off-hours) to troubleshoot machine problems.Attend manufacturer training as required.Assist in training of new technicians.Complete projects as assigned by the branch Service Manager or Regional Operations Manager.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Must have High School Diploma or equivalent, a 2 year technical degree or comparable military training is preferred.Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the heavy equipment industry or a related field.Excellent written and oral communication and basic mathematical skills.Proficient with a computer, including the use of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and diagnostic use using manufacturer provided programs.Must have a good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions.Ability to stoop, kneel, push, pull, twist and carry and lift up to 70lbs.Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 15 feet.Able to work in all types of weather conditions.Must have a valid driver’s license and able to travel overnight periodically for product training or company related business.Must pass background check, employment physical and drug screen.
