Job summary

Altec Industries, Inc. is seeking an Inventory Service Support professional to assist in Administrative, Inventory, Parts, and Estimating functions. You will respond to customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide updates to Team Lead to improve customer satisfaction across service locations.

The role requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Travel up to 25% may be required, with preference for St. Joseph, MO.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of experience in industry related field or Bachelor’s with 1 year preferred.
• Strong computer skills in Word and Excel.
• Altec Service experience preferred.
• Must have demonstrated experience of providing high volume levels of customer support.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, reconcile, and finalize inventory documentation and transactions.
• Conduct inventory research using Oracle Material Transactions to verify activity.
• Provide inventory support to Mobile and Centralized Shops by responding to inquiries.
• Investigate Service Requests to identify root causes and support resolution.
• Deliver daily operational support with multitasking and timely responses.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain accuracy.

The Altec Service Group has service centers and an extensive fleet of mobile service vehicles and technicians across the United States and Canada. This critical position is responsible for providing excellent customer support and satisfaction within the Service Support areas: Administrative, Inventory, Parts, and Estimating. Responds to customer inquiries and resolves customer issues. Provides updates to Team Lead for internal teams on customer needs that contribute to the customer satisfaction.

This position is open to any Altec location with preference for this hire to live in St. Joseph.

Major Responsibilities

Inventory Service Support

• Prepare, reconcile, and finalize the system-related documentation and transactions associated with daily physical inventories.
• Conduct detailed inventory research and analysis using Oracle Material Transactions to investigate discrepancies, validate inventory activity, and ensure data accuracy.
• Provide inventory support to Mobile and Centralized Shops by responding to inventory-related questions and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Research and investigate Service Requests to identify root causes, verify inventory transactions, and support issue resolution.
• Deliver daily operational support to Mobile and Centralized Shops through effective multitasking, inbox management, and prompt response to inventory inquiries.
• Monitor inventory transactions and system activity to ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and company policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain inventory accuracy and support operational efficiency.
• Analyze inventory variances, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to improve inventory processes.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all inventory-related activities are completed within established deadlines.
• Serve as a key point of contact for inventory-related support, troubleshooting, and process guidance across supported locations.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

Should the selected candidate meet the qualifications of a more experienced level in the career path, the job level may be adjusted.

• High School Diploma or GED required and
• Three years of experience in industry related field required (i.e. Customer Service with manufactured products or product services; Material Support or inventory control for manufactured products; or Service Writing in a dealership) or in a similar job function
  Or
• Bachelor’s Degree and
• One years’ experience in industry related field required (i.e. Customer Service with manufactured products or product services; Material Support or inventory control for manufactured products; or Service Writing in a dealership) or in a similar job function preferred
• Experience in an Inventory Office Support capacity with advanced computer skills preferred
• Altec Service experience preferred
• Must have demonstrated experience of providing high volume levels of customer support
• Strong Computer Skills, especially in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated Problem Solving Skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Solid team player with a collaborative nature
• Ability to multitask and handle multiple transactions
