Service Site Supervisor - High-End Residential, New York, NY
Our client is a New York general contractor and construction manager delivering high-end residential work across the city, with offices in New York, California, Connecticut and Florida.
The firm is hiring a Service Site Supervisor to run day-to-day field operations for its Service Department - construction punch list work, home maintenance and small service projects in finished, occupied residences. This is a supervisory role with a team of technicians and subcontractors under it, reporting to a Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly overseeing daily site activity across punch list work, home maintenance and small service projects.
- Managing a team of technicians and subcontractors, and holding them to the firm's standard of quality and presentation.
- Preparing estimates for the Project Manager's review and approval before anything reaches a client.
- Maintaining the weekly activity sheet and the service work order log, and issuing an updated punch list every Thursday with a forecast for the following week.
- Providing a weekly labor forecast so the Project Manager can plan and allocate resources.
- Resolving site issues and conflicts quickly, and escalating them to the Project Manager.
- Keeping accurate records of work performed and materials used, filing vendor invoices to the work order folder, and reviewing invoices monthly with accounting.
- Enforcing OSHA requirements and company safety protocols.
- Training and mentoring the team, and flagging performance concerns early.
Qualifications
- Supervisory experience running field operations on residential construction, service or maintenance work.
- Comfortable in occupied, high-end homes - presentable, discreet and reliable with clients, doormen and building staff.
- Strong written communication. This firm runs on email and expects a documented trail.
- Able to read plans and specifications and hold work to them.
- Organized enough to carry estimates, logs, punch lists and forecasts on a weekly cadence without being chased.
- OSHA certification, or the willingness to obtain it.
Compensation
- $90,000 to $120,000, depending on experience.
Benefits
- Medical, dental and vision from the first day of employment, with no waiting period.
- A no-network plan design - benefits are the same whichever doctor or facility you use, so you keep your own physician.
- Prescription program and a company-funded health reimbursement arrangement on the mid-tier plan.
- 401(k) after a three-month probation, with the company contributing 3% of salary after one year of service.
- Fifteen days of paid time off a year, plus an annual discretionary bonus.
- $60 a month toward a personal cell phone used for work.
- Paid weekly.
Compensation:
$90,000-$120,000 per year
