• Current safety credentials, including SST supervisor card.

Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of established New York general contractors specializing in high-end residential construction - renovations and gut projects on apartments, townhouses and single-family homes across the city and the surrounding metro area. These are long-standing firms with reputations built on craftsmanship, repeat clients and well-run job sites rather than volume.

The role

This is the top of the superintendent ladder - the person a firm puts on the job it cannot afford to get wrong. Superintendents report to the job rather than to an office, so location is about where the work is, not where the desk is.

What you will do

• Run the firm's most significant and most technically demanding residential projects.
• Own the site schedule, sequencing and trade coordination end to end.
• Set the quality benchmark and hold every trade to it.
• Lead assistant superintendents and site staff.
• Own safety, logistics and regulatory compliance on site.
• Be the senior on-site presence in front of owners, architects and boards.

What we are looking for

• Fifteen or more years of site supervision in New York, the bulk of it on luxury residential.
• A record on flagship projects - the technically difficult and the highly finished.
• Comfortable leading other superintendents.
• Complete command of NYC approvals, inspections and building requirements.
• Current safety credentials, including an SST supervisor card.

Compensation and benefits

$180,000 - $200,000, depending on experience.
