Job Description

The Service Porter will be responsible for maintaining the dealership’s appearance, assisting with vehicle movement, and delivering exceptional customer service.

This entry-level position is ideal for candidates interested in pursuing a career in the automotive industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet all customers entering the service area with a friendly and professional attitude, answer their questions, and direct them to the appropriate person or location.
• Determine if customers coming into service have an appointment. Record customer’s name, VIN, tag number, mileage, and existing vehicle damage (walk around).
• Move and park vehicles within the dealership premises and maintain flow of traffic.
• Drive vehicles to and from the service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed.
• Keep the dealership lot, driveways, and sidewalks clean, organized, and presentable.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
• Retrieve customer vehicles at the cashier for pick-up; wait at the vehicle for the customer, and thank them for their business.
• Install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and I.D. tags in all vehicles taken in for service.
• Support service departments with various tasks as required (e.g., replenish vehicle fluids and minor assistance tasks).
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any accidents to a manager or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the USA.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: drug testing, background check, MVR.

(The Porter position offers a pay scale with a base hourly wage of $18.00, along with additional compensation elements.)

Schedule:

• Part-time
• Work days: Saturdays, Monday - Wednesday (9 am to 6 pm)
