Summary

Security Officers are responsible for activities necessary to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors, in accordance with security regulations and policies.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent (GED). An Associate's degree is preferred.

Certification, Registration & Licensure

Valid New Hampshire Driver's license required. Certifications needed within 30 days of hire include Management of Aggressive Behavior, Forensic Restraints, Conductive Energy Weapon (C.E.W.), and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Experience

Experience as a Healthcare Security Officer, Corrections Officer, Police Officer, Military, or Behavioral Health is preferred. Candidates with relevant degrees may be considered without security experience. Skills required include crisis management, de-escalation, conflict resolution, customer service, and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Manage aggressive/combative patients, monitor high-risk patients, and assist with restraints, documenting all events properly.
• Document security incidents and conduct safety rounds.
• Act as liaison with medical examiners, funeral directors, and families for patient care protocols.
• Provide security at satellite offices, coordinate training, and act as liaison with law enforcement.
• Handle security-related investigations, manage off-site service calls, and participate in department meetings and training.
