Job summary

Swickard Auto Group, a hospitality-focused dealership family, seeks a Service Porter for Mercedes-Benz of Palo Alto. You will move and stage guest vehicles, ensure safe handling, and support service staff to maintain smooth vehicle flow while delivering a premium guest experience.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
• Ability to drive and maneuver vehicles of varying sizes in a busy service environment.
• Professional appearance and demeanor expected for a luxury-brand context.
• Reliable, punctual and self-directed; the service drive depends on porter support.
• Prior porter/valet/driver experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Move, stage, and position vehicles safely and efficiently in service drive, lot, and delivery areas.
• Transport guest vehicles to and from service lanes, detail bays, and parking areas.
• Assist with loaner vehicle staging and inventory return.
• Support service advisors and technicians by maintaining vehicle flow without delays.
• Deliver professional, courteous interactions with guests whose vehicles you handle.
• Keep drive, lot, and staging areas organized and presentable during the shift.

What You'll Do

• Move, stage, and position vehicles throughout the service drive, lot, and delivery areas safely and efficiently
• Transport guest vehicles to and from service lanes, detail bays, and designated parking areas
• Assist with loaner vehicle staging -- preparing loaners for guest pickup and returning them to inventory upon drop-off
• Support service advisors and technicians by keeping vehicle flow on the drive moving without delays
• Deliver a professional, courteous interaction with every guest whose vehicle you handle -- first and last impressions count
• Keep the service drive, lot, and staging areas organized and presentable throughout the shift

What We're Looking For

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record -- required. Non-negotiable for this role
• Comfortable driving and maneuvering vehicles of varying sizes in a tight, busy service environment
• Professional appearance and demeanor -- Mercedes-Benz of Palo Alto guests expect a team that matches the brand
• Reliable, punctual, and self-directed -- the service drive depends on porter support and the whole team notices when it runs well
• Prior porter, valet, lot attendant, or driver experience a plus -- not required
