Job summary

Southern Home Services is seeking a Service Plumber to perform a range of residential plumbing tasks, including troubleshooting, installation, and repairs. You will diagnose issues, execute repairs to high-quality standards, and ensure compliance with local codes while communicating effectively with homeowners.

The role requires hands-on plumbing experience, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work in various environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years hands-on plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair experience.
• Proficiency reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specs.
• Experience with water, gas, and sewage systems and related components.
• Familiarity with local/state plumbing codes and regulations.
• Experience with pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to communicate with homeowners.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with customers, team, and supervisors.
• Ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and handle tools for extended periods.
• Commitment to safety protocols and safe work environment.
• Proven track record of delivering quality customer service.
• Basic knowledge of mobile apps/work management software to track tasks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment.
• Determining whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers.
• Installing and assembling plumbing systems and equipment (valves, fittings, pipes).
• Performing installation, maintenance, and repairs on water, gas, and sewage systems.
• Testing for leaks using compressed air or water for safety and function.
• Repairing and maintaining plumbing systems by replacing washers and repairing burst pipes.
• Managing inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle.
• Keeping equipment and tools operational per manufacturer instructions.
• Maintaining safety equipment.
• Additional duties as assigned.
