Job summary

Southern Home Services is seeking a Service Plumber to perform service work including troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems in residential settings. You will diagnose issues, execute repairs, and ensure all work meets local codes and quality standards.

The role requires 2+ years of hands-on plumbing experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
• Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
• Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
• Experience with various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
• Problem-solving skills to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend solutions.
• Strong communication skills to interact with customers, team members and supervisors.
• Flexibility to work weekends and on-call emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment.
• Determining whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers.
• Installing and assembling plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
• Performing installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components.
• Testing for leaks to ensure functionality and safety.
• Repairing and maintaining plumbing systems by replacing washers and mending burst pipes.
• Managing the inventory of plumbing supplies and keeping equipment serviced.
• Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Leading apprentices and coordinating with other trades on larger projects.
