Job summary

Southern Home Services is seeking a Service Plumber to handle a range of residential plumbing tasks, including troubleshooting, installations, and repairs. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure high-quality work aligned with local codes while communicating effectively with homeowners.

The role requires at least 2 years of hands-on plumbing experience, proficiency in reading blueprints, and a valid Journeyman Plumbing License.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on plumbing installation, maintenance and repair experience.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
• Experience with water, gas, and sewage systems installation, maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with local/state plumbing codes and regulations.
• Ability to use pipe cutters, threaders and soldering tools.
• Strong problem-solving and customer-facing communication skills.
• Able to work safely, lift heavy materials, and operate in varied environments.
• Driver’s license with a clean record (3+ years).
• Adaptable to flexible hours including weekends and emergency calls.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment.
• Determine whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers.
• Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves and fittings.
• Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on water, gas, and sewage systems.
• Test for leaks using compressed air and water to ensure safety and functionality.
• Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, patching pipes, and clearing drains.
• Manage inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle and verify receipts.
• Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain safety equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
