Job description

Service Platform Technicians assist in maintaining, deploying, and improving the centralized platforms, tools, and automation that enable Machado Consulting's service delivery. This role is ideal for IT professionals who have gained foundational experience supporting systems and users and are interested in developing deeper skills in automation, scripting, platform management, and operational engineering.

While this position is more proactive than reactive, Service Platform Technicians may occasionally assist with troubleshooting platform issues, resolving automation failures, and supporting the ongoing health of centralized systems.

Service Platform Technicians help maintain automation, standardized configurations, and shared systems used across client environments and internal teams. They work closely with other departments to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and support initiatives that enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities include assisting with automation projects, deploying tools and configurations, documenting processes, maintaining existing platforms, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

This role provides exposure to technologies spanning Microsoft 365, Azure, endpoint management, identity systems, security tooling, monitoring platforms, and service automation solutions. While Service Platform Technicians do not routinely respond to support tickets, their work directly impacts the efficiency, quality, and scalability of client-facing services.

At Machado Consulting, Information Security is embedded in everything we do. Service Platform Technicians are expected to follow secure‑by‑default principles, support compliance initiatives, and ensure that the systems and automation they work on meet security and governance requirements. Training and mentorship will be provided to help technicians develop a strong security mindset.

Service Platform Technicians will collaborate with internal teams and occasionally assist with security‑related initiatives, audits, assessments, documentation efforts, and process improvements involving centralized systems and automation.

Career Growth Opportunity

The Service Platform Technician role is designed to prepare team members for future advancement into Service Platform Engineering and other specialized technical roles. Successful technicians will gain hands‑on experience with automation, scripting, Microsoft 365, Azure, security tooling, and platform management while working alongside senior engineers on real‑world projects.
