Job summary

G S Blodgett LLC is seeking a Service Parts Associate to ensure accurate replacement parts and assemblies are delivered promptly. The role combines hands-on warehouse tasks with basic component testing, order processing, and inventory logging on a shop floor.

You will pick, validate, test, package, and receive commercial oven parts while upholding quality, accuracy, and safety standards. The position supports cross-department collaboration and continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Print, process, prioritize, and validate incoming replacement part orders to ensure accurate and timely order execution.
• Prepare picking packets and staging orders for parts processors and fulfillment team members.
• Inspect parts against order sheets, select appropriate carton sizes and protective packaging materials, and pack orders safely, paying special attention to fragile electrical or mechanical components.
• Safely operate shipping equipment (UPS shipping software/machines, scales, postage meters, and plastic banding machines) to prepare parcels for carrier pickup.
• Perform function and continuity testing on specialized electrical/mechanical components using diagnostic tools (Ohm meters, Hi-Pot testers, tube testers).
• Package hardware, wiring, instruction sheets, and sub-components into complete service assembly kits; tag finished assemblies with correct part numbers and return them to stock locations.
• Inspect incoming part shipments for physical accuracy, quantities, and quality before logging items into inventory.
• Assist with total inventory control by conducting routine cycle counts and maintaining accurate stock bin locations.
• Process and maintain records for warranty part returns, defective items, and excess stock returns.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with manufacturing, purchasing, and shipping teams to resolve shortages and streamline workflows.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency gains in daily parts handling, packaging, and shipping routines.
• Technical & Diagnostic Skills: use basic electrical testing equipment and assemble tools.
• Literacy & Measurement: read travelers, shop order sheets, blueprints, and measurement tools.
• Shipping & Systems Operations: familiarity with shipping software and data entry.
• Physical Demands: lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, sit, and stand for extended periods.
• Teamwork & Flexibility: strong interpersonal skills for collaborative work.
• Safety & Environment: maintain a clean, safe working environment.
