Job summary

SGS Consulting in Austin, TX seeks a Materials Planner to forecast and plan service parts via MRP, maintain accurate master data, analyze inventory levels, and review backlog daily.

You will interface with supply planning teams, communicate availability and order status, develop reports in Tableau, SAP, and Excel, and create and track purchase orders and transfers. The role requires 2–3 years in materials planning and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
• 2–3 years in materials planning, purchasing, or repair parts expediting.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP for purchasing and inventory.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excel expertise (analysis, reporting, pivot tables, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Forecast and plan service parts via MRP system
• Maintain accurate materials and parts master data
• Analyze inventory levels, usage, lead-times, and demand
• Daily review of backlog beyond automated system triggers
• Interface with internal supply planning teams for timely fulfillment
• Communicate parts availability, order status, shipping, and delivery details to stakeholders
• Develop and maintain reports in Tableau, SAP, and Excel
• Create purchase orders, stock transfer orders, and track orders
• Monitor service parts inventory against open purchase orders
• Prepare weekly KPI reports
