Job summary

Paycom - ATS seeks a Service Department Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the service team. You will develop budgets, lead staffing, and coordinate with Sales and Parts to drive customer satisfaction.

You will monitor labor sales, implement marketing plans, and ensure compliance with warranty and safety programs. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on supervision in a dealership setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; continuing course in Management also required.
• Minimum four years as a mechanic and at least 2 years as a shop foreman or lead mechanic.
• Must be able to read and write English; able to read computer-generated reports, office reports, invoices, etc.
• Must operate computer terminals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and follow annual service budget based on labor hours attainable.
• Service profit goals compatible with dealership objectives.
• Monitor labor sales monthly to achieve goals.
• Develop and implement annual Service marketing and promotion plan.
• Lead recruitment, screening, hiring, training, and development of Service personnel.
• Maintain management reports to audit Service Department performance monthly.
• Audit work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to billing.
• Prioritize and schedule Service work; assign jobs by skill level to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with Sales and Parts to maximize dealership performance and customer satisfaction.
• Visit primary customers to assess service needs and satisfaction.
• Evaluate Service performance monthly and via time management reports.
• Coordinate service training sessions and technical programs.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available and maintained; recommend vehicle purchases.
• Other duties as directed by Management; ensure safe working conditions.
