Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Service Manager to lead the servicing of both company and customer equipment in a timely and effective manner. The role involves managing repairs, scheduling, parts orders, and training of staff mechanics to ensure readiness and safety.

You will work with vendors to understand maintenance requirements, evaluate equipment after service, and maintain service records while handling customer concerns and ensuring quality control across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Extensive experience repairing and maintaining self-propelled platforms and lifts.
• Knowledge of work planning, scheduling and supervisory activities.
• Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements.
• Clear view of maintenance and repair issues in the industry.
• Experience in planning and managing projects or teams.
• Experience in reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manages repair and maintenance of company-owned and customer equipment, including yard organization (Ready to Rent, Returned, Down).
• Prepares work schedules and handles service calls to meet customer needs and ensure equipment availability.
• Orders parts to maintain adequate supplies.
• Provides training and assistance to staff mechanics.
• Collaborates with equipment vendors on maintenance requirements for new inventory.
• Evaluates equipment after repairs, maintenance or safety checks.
• Documents equipment status before and after rental.
• Handles customer complaints regarding equipment condition or operation.
• Promotes safety awareness and performs quality control checks.
• Updates, maintains and organizes equipment service records; creates and closes work orders; files warranty claims.
• Performs disposal of hazardous waste and reports via multiple reporting channels.
• Commissions new equipment; orders and returns parts and manages inventory.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
