Sunbelt Rentals in Chicago, IL is seeking a Service Manager to oversee repair and maintenance of company and customer equipment, manage service schedules, and ensure equipment is available to meet customer needs.

You will lead a team of mechanics, coordinate with vendors, document service records, handle safety and quality checks, and contribute to fleet performance. A valid driver's license and proven supervisory experience are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Extensive experience in repair and maintenance of self-propelled platforms and lifts.
• Knowledge of work planning and scheduling and supervisory activities.
• Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements.
• Planning and management experience; computer literacy and reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage repair and maintenance of company and customer equipment and organize yard.
• Prepare work schedules and handle service calls to meet customer needs.
• Order parts to maintain supplies.
• Provide training to staff mechanics.
• Work with equipment vendors on maintenance requirements.
• Evaluate equipment after repairs, maintenance or safety checks.
• Document equipment status before and after rental.
• Handle customer complaints regarding equipment condition or operation.
• Promote safety awareness and perform quality control checks.
• Update and maintain service records; create and bill work orders.
• File warranty claims; commissions new equipment.
• Inventory and parts management; various reports.
