Job summary

Kelso Industries in Garland, TX seeks a Service Manager (Commercial HVAC) to lead the HVAC service department and oversee 8–10 technicians, dispatch, and scheduling. Drive profitability, customer satisfaction, and growth of maintenance programs across North Texas.

Reporting to the COO, this role demands deep HVAC expertise, strong leadership, and a commitment to safety and service excellence. Base salary: $100,000–$130,000 plus Health/Dental/Vision, 401(k) match, PTO, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• 3+ years leading service technicians, supervisors, or service operations teams.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, chillers, boilers, VRF/VRV, VFDs, BAS.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of 8-10+ commercial HVAC service technicians.
• Oversee daily service operations, dispatch coordination, and technician scheduling.
• Monitor service department performance, productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Support growth of preventive maintenance agreements, service contracts, and recurring revenue opportunities.
• Assist with estimating, job costing, budgeting, and resource planning.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for complex service issues.
• Collaborate with service sales, project management, field operations, and accounting teams.
• Review service reports, work orders, and invoicing for accuracy and timely completion.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and customer service excellence.

Service Manager (Commercial HVAC)

Position Overview

As a Service Manager at NTD Mechanical, you will oversee the daily operations, growth, and profitability of NTD Mechanical’s HVAC service department. This leader will be responsible for managing 8-10+ HVAC service technicians, supporting dispatch and scheduling activities, driving customer satisfaction, improving operational efficiency, and helping grow a scalable service business across North Texas.

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• 3+ years leading service technicians, supervisors, or service operations teams
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment , including:
  • Rooftop Units (RTUs)
  • Chillers
  • Boilers
  • VRF/VRV Systems
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• Experience managing dispatch priorities, service workflows, and customers
• Understanding of service department financials, labor utilization, gross margin, job costing, and operational KPIs
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and service management software.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to build teams, improve processes, and drive accountability.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical HVAC training preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the North Texas commercial HVAC market
• Experience growing preventive maintenance and service agreement portfolios.
• Knowledge of Foundation or similar ERP/service management platforms.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $100,000-$130,000 based on experience and qualifications.
