Job summary

NTD Mechanical is seeking a Service Manager for its Commercial HVAC division in Garland, TX. You will oversee 8-10+ technicians, manage dispatch, and drive profitability and customer satisfaction across North Texas.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in commercial HVAC service and 3+ years in leadership, with strong knowledge of RTUs, chillers, boilers, and VRF/VRV systems. A valid driver’s license and a technical HVAC background are required, with opportunities to grow the service business.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• 3+ years leading service technicians, supervisors, or service operations teams.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment (RTUs, Chillers, Boilers, VRF/VRV).
• Experience managing dispatch priorities and service workflows.
• Understanding of service department financials, labor utilization, gross margin, job costing, KPIs.

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of 8-10+ commercial HVAC service technicians.
• Oversee daily service operations, dispatch coordination, and scheduling.
• Monitor service department performance, productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Support growth of preventive maintenance agreements and recurring revenue.
• Assist with estimating, job costing, budgeting, and resource planning.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for complex service issues.
• Collaborate with service sales, project management, field operations, and accounting teams.
• Review service reports, work orders, and invoicing for accuracy.

Position Overview

As a Service Manager at NTD Mechanical, you will oversee the daily operations, growth, and profitability of NTD Mechanical's HVAC service department . This leader will be responsible for managing 8-10+ HVAC service technicians, supporting dispatch and scheduling activities, driving customer satisfaction, improving operational efficiency, and helping grow a scalable service business across North Texas.

What You'll Do

• - Lead, mentor, and support a team of 8-10+ commercial HVAC service technicians.

• - Review service reports, work orders, and invoicing for accuracy and timely completion.
• - Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
• - Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and customer service excellence.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• - 10+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• - 3+ years leading service technicians, supervisors, or service operations teams
• - Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment , including:
• Rooftop Units (RTUs)
• - Chillers
• - Boilers
• - VRF/VRV Systems
• - Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• - Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• - Experience managing dispatch priorities, service workflows, and customers
• - Understanding of service department financials, labor utilization, gross margin, job costing, and operational KPIs
• - Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and service management software.
• - Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• - Ability to build teams, improve processes, and drive accountability.
• - Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• - High school diploma or GED required; technical HVAC training preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• - Familiarity with the North Texas commercial HVAC market
• - Experience growing preventive maintenance and service agreement portfolios.
• - Knowledge of Foundation or similar ERP/service management platforms.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $100,000-$130,000 based on experience and qualifications.
