Job summary

Kelso Industries seeks a Service Manager for its North Texas commercial HVAC service operations. You will lead 8-10+ technicians, oversee dispatch and scheduling, and drive profitability and customer satisfaction.

The role requires 10+ years in commercial HVAC service and 3+ years of leadership, with strong knowledge of RTUs, chillers, boilers, VRF/VRV, VFDs, and BAS. A high school diploma and HVAC training are preferred; valid license required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• 3+ years leading service technicians, supervisors, or service operations teams.
• Experience with RTUs, chillers, boilers, VRF/VRV, VFDs, BAS.
• Experience managing dispatch priorities, service workflows, and customers.
• Understanding of service department financials, labor utilization, gross margin, job costing, and KPIs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and service management software.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to build teams, improve processes, and drive accountability.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma or GED; HVAC training preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitor service department performance, productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Support the growth of preventive maintenance agreements, service contracts, and recurring revenue opportunities.
• Assist with estimating, job costing, budgeting, and resource planning.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex service issues.
• Collaborate with service sales, project management, field operations, and accounting teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Review service reports, work orders, and invoicing for accuracy and timely completion.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and customer service excellence.

Position Overview

As a Service Manager at NTD Mechanical, you will oversee the daily operations, growth, and profitability of NTD Mechanical's HVAC service department. This leader will be responsible for managing 8-10+ HVAC service technicians, supporting dispatch and scheduling activities, driving customer satisfaction, improving operational efficiency, and helping grow a scalable service business across North Texas.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HVAC service professional who combines strong technical knowledge with leadership, business acumen, and a passion for developing people.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• 3+ years leading service technicians, supervisors, or service operations teams
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, including:
• Rooftop Units (RTUs)
• Chillers
• Boilers
• VRF/VRV Systems
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• Experience managing dispatch priorities, service workflows, and customers
• Understanding of service department financials, labor utilization, gross margin, job costing, and operational KPIs
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and service management software.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to build teams, improve processes, and drive accountability.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical HVAC training preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the North Texas commercial HVAC market
• Experience growing preventive maintenance and service agreement portfolios.
• Knowledge of Foundation or similar ERP/service management platforms.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $100,000-$130,000 based on experience and qualifications.
