HVACTech is seeking an Industrial Air Compressor Service Manager in the Arvada/Denver area to lead a team of field service technicians and support staff, oversee day-to-day operations, and drive service profitability. You will manage preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, startups, installations, and warranty work while delivering excellent customer service and strong financial performance.

Job description

We have a new opportunity with a well-established industrial equipment company for an Industrial Air Compressor Service Manager based in Arvada/Denver, Colorado. This is a leadership role overseeing a team of field service technicians and support staff while managing the day-to-day operations and profitability of the compressed air service department.

Salary: $90,000-$125,000/year + Performance Incentive

The Role
  • Lead and manage Field Service Technicians, Dispatch, Service Coordination, and Technical Service personnel.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance, emergency breakdowns, diagnostics, repairs, rebuilds, startups, installations, warranty work, and rental services.
  • Prioritize and coordinate daily service calls, technician schedules, customer requirements, parts, and on-call coverage.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop compressed air service technicians.
  • Provide technical leadership across rotary screw, reciprocating, oil-free, centrifugal compressors, dryers, filtration, controls, blowers, vacuum, and related systems.
  • Act as the escalation point for major equipment failures, customer complaints, callbacks, and quality issues.
  • Manage service agreements, customer retention, quoting, invoicing, warranty recovery, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Own service revenue, gross profit, labor utilization, realized labor rates, overtime recovery, and departmental financial performance.
  • Maintain accurate service records and workflows using SAGE 100 or comparable ERP/field-service software.
  • Work closely with Sales, Parts, Engineering, Installation, Accounting, HR, and senior leadership.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory or management experience involving field technicians, dispatch, scheduling, and customer escalations.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial compressed air systems, particularly rotary screw and reciprocating compressors.
  • Experience with air dryers, filtration, drains, receivers, controls, and mechanical/electrical/pneumatic systems.
  • Understanding of service economics, including utilization, labor recovery, gross profit, WIP, service agreements, warranty recovery, and invoicing.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and industrial customer-site safety requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and preferably SAGE 100 or a comparable ERP/field-service platform.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to provide after-hours escalation support and travel to customer sites.
