Job summary

Penn Power Group is seeking a Service Manager to lead the service department, oversee day-to-day operations, and drive reliable, safe repairs for our diesel fleet customers in the Philadelphia area. You will manage the team, coordinate workflow, and ensure timely diagnostics, estimates, and service delivery.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in heavy‑duty diesel repair with at least 2 years in supervision, strong leadership, exceptional customer service, and familiarity with service software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in heavy-duty diesel repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic equipment.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and timely repairs.
• Supervise and mentor a team of diesel technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Schedule and prioritize work orders to meet customer expectations and minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain strong customer relationships by communicating clearly about diagnostics, estimates, repairs, and timelines.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Monitor parts inventory and work with the parts department to ensure timely procurement.
• Review and analyze service reports, KPIs, and technician productivity to drive improvement.
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to support business goals.
