Job summary

Penn Power Group, LLC is seeking a Service Manager to oversee the service department’s operations, lead a team of diesel technicians, and ensure top‑quality repairs and maintenance for our commercial fleet customers. The ideal candidate has extensive diesel engine experience, proven leadership abilities, and a track record of developing high‑performing teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in heavy‑duty diesel repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems and diagnostics.
• Proven leadership and ability to develop a high‑performing team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience with service software and reporting tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and timely repairs.
• Supervise and mentor a team of diesel technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Schedule and prioritize work orders to meet customer expectations and minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain strong customer relationships by communicating clearly about diagnostics, estimates, repairs, and timelines.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Monitor parts inventory and collaborate with parts to ensure timely procurement.
• Review KPIs and technician productivity to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with sales and operations to support business goals.
