The Service Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of CraneWorks' Olathe, Kansas service department while driving a culture centered on safety, customer satisfaction, accountability, and operational excellence. This position provides leadership to service technicians, service advisors, field service personnel, and shop operations to ensure the highest quality repairs and maintenance of cranes, boom trucks, truck‑mounted equipment, and other heavy construction equipment.
The Service Manager is accountable for maximizing technician productivity and efficiency, achieving financial and operational goals, and delivering an exceptional customer experience from initial service request through equipment delivery. This role partners closely with Parts, Sales, Rental, and Operations to optimize workflow, improve profitability, and minimize customer downtime.
Success in this position requires a hands‑on leader who can effectively coach and develop employees, manage multiple priorities, solve complex technical and operational issues, and build strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with extensive heavy equipment service experience and a passion for leading high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced environment.
The Service Manager will champion continuous improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements, monitor key performance indicators, manage departmental budgets, and promote a culture where employees are empowered to deliver industry‑leading service while living the CraneWorks values of Safety, Integrity, Reliability, Quality, and Teamwork.
