Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician II in Cleveland to respond to service requests, maintain apartments, and support site operations with hands-on trade skills.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service and teamwork in a five-day-in-office environment. You will diagnose and repair appliances and building systems, prepare vacants for new residents, and assist with REAC/HQS readiness while maintaining shop safety and inventory.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; trade school or 3 years progressive responsibility in property management or hospitality.
• Minimum of 3 years of advanced hands-on repair experience in two or more building trades.
• REAC/HQS experience preferred.
• Industry-Trade certifications/degrees (NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, HVAC, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Respond to service requests and on-call emergencies promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on building systems and components.
• Prepare repairs to vacant apartments for new resident move-ins.
• Maintain grounds and common spaces, including cleaning, trash, landscaping, and snow removal.
• Prepare repairs for REAC/HQS inspections and audits.
• Maintain maintenance shop and inventory with a safety mindset and PPE.
• Weekend work, on-call rotation and emergency service duties.
• Provide technical guidance to Maintenance Tech I.
