Job summary

HydraForce offers an engineering internship program designed to develop future resources for our Service, Quality and Sales Engineering groups. Interns gain hands-on experience with 8D problem solving, data tracking, and hydraulic analysis.

Responsibilities include supporting service engineers, building dashboards (Power BI), and performing root cause analysis on customer claims, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement projects and hands-on hydraulic testing.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Coursework/experience in statistical analysis and lean tools required.
  • Power BI knowledge is a plus.
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Service Engineers by actively participating in Problem Solving activities, assuring the achievement of the different steps of an 8D process
  • Create and modify existing systems that track metrics, including dashboards using Power BI
  • Support the Service Engineers to track the evaluation status of customer claims
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects
  • Day to day support activities including reviewing returned materials and verification of customer complaints through root cause analysis and hydraulic testing for failure analysis
  • Assemble/disassemble hydraulic valves and manifolds for failure analysis
  • Read/analyze hydraulic prints
  • Use Six Sigma, Lean tools to analyze and solve problems

Introduction

The goal of HydraForce's internship program is to develop future engineering resources for our organization while providing support to our Service, Quality and Sales Engineering groups. We structure the engineering internship to allow candidates the opportunity to develop knowledge and skill-sets unique to our industry. Although there is no guarantee of employment, it is our goal to have our interns fully capable of stepping into an entry-level engineering position upon graduation.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Service Engineers by actively participating in Problem Solving activities, assuring the achievement of the different steps of an 8D process
  • Create and modify existing systems that track our metrics, including the improvements in the current dashboard/scorecard used by the service department possibly using analytical tools like Power BI for example
  • Support the Service Engineers to track the evaluation status of the customer claims
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects
  • Day to day support activities but not limited to reviewing returned materials and verification of customer complaints through root cause analysis and perform of hydraulic testing for failure analysis
  • Assemble/disassemble hydraulic valves and manifolds for failure analysis
  • Read/analyze hydraulic prints
  • Use tools and techniques from Six Sigma, Lean, to analyze and solve problems
Requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills- Required
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Power BI knowledge will be a plus
  • MiniTab is a plus
  • Coursework and/or experience in statistical analysis, lean tools- Required
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
Employment Details

Indefinite U.S. work authorized individuals only. Future sponsorship for work authorization unavailable.

The US base hourly range for this position will be in between $18- $28 depending on the credits accumulated for the undergraduate students. Your Recruiter can share more details about the specific hourly range during the interview process.
