Job summary

Company Wrench is seeking a service writer to be the primary contact for customers, processing work orders from intake to completion. You will gather equipment details, schedule services, verify warranty coverage, and prepare cost estimates with parts and labor data for management review.

You will open and track work orders, secure deposits, and keep customers informed with accurate estimates and ETA based on parts availability and shop workflow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required with experience in service writing or as a mechanic.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency with computer systems and basic software tools is required.
• Willingness to learn new skills and processes is important.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main contact for service customers and process work orders from start to finish.
• Gather equipment details, schedule work, and ensure accurate job descriptions and locations.
• Open WOs promptly and obtain necessary approvals and deposits.
• Prepare estimates by sourcing parts and labor data, and relay to the service manager for review.
• Communicate with customers about estimates, timelines, and updates.
• Coordinate with parts and shop to assign technicians and manage priorities.
