Job summary

Alfa Laval, based in Houston, seeks an experienced leader to supervise daily repair‑shop operations and support all Service Center activities. You will lead shop floor teams, provide technical guidance, interpret drawings, and drive continuous improvement.

Role requires hands-on repair experience, strong leadership, and knowledge of Lean tools. You'll collaborate with engineering, quality, and management to improve turnaround times while ensuring safety and documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on repair/shop operations experience.
• Minimum 3 years in leadership roles.
• Experience with Lean tools (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong machining and welding knowledge.
• Customer-service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to lead teams, prioritize work and perform under pressure.
• Collaborative with engineering, quality and management teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily repair‑shop operations on the shop floor.
• Provide technical and operational guidance to coordinators and team leads.
• Interpret drawings, review repair history, troubleshoot equipment.
• Drive capacity planning, training, and performance.
• Ensure safety, PPE usage, and inspections.
• Lead continuous-improvement initiatives (ALPS, 5S, Kaizen).
• Maintain shop records, vendor POs, and documentation accuracy.
• Support payroll/timekeeping and shop supply reconciliation.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality and management to improve turnaround.
