Job summary

Sierra Propane in Merced, CA is seeking a General Manager to own a Service Center, drive safety, growth, and profitability, and lead a team of supervisors and frontline staff. You’ll manage P&L, build plans, coach leaders, ensure safety standards, and coordinate with regional partners to meet revenue and service goals, especially during peak seasons.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring CDL B, 6+ years leadership, and a track record of improving operations; starting compensation around

Qualifications

• Ability to hold full P&L accountability and make data-driven financial decisions.
• 6+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations or field-based environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading people managers, not just individual contributors.
• Willingness and ability to champion and enforce safety standards every day.
• Required CDL B with appropriate endorsements based on Service Center needs.

Responsibilities

• Own the Service Center’s P&L, including revenue growth, margins, and cost control.
• Build and execute business plans, budgets, and forecasts using financial and operational data.
• Identify concrete opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and service reliability.
• Set clear expectations, coach supervisors, and hold leaders accountable for results.
• Hire, onboard, and develop employees with emphasis on safety, engagement, and retention.
• Create a workplace where inclusion, trust, and collaboration are practiced.
