EMCOR Services New England Mechanical is seeking a detail-oriented Service Billing Specialist to support accurate and timely billing of service work throughout New England. You will ensure service orders are properly costed, billed, and compliant with tax and prevailing wage requirements.

In a high-volume office environment, you will review contracts, resolve billing discrepancies with internal teams, and generate invoices while maintaining meticulous records.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of billing, bookkeeping, accounting support, and customer service experience.
• Advanced understanding of accounting principles and ERP software.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Service Billing Specialist to support the accurate and timely billing of service work performed across multiple locations throughout New England. In this fast-paced role, you will play a critical part in ensuring service orders are properly costed, billed, and compliant with applicable tax and prevailing wage requirements. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Process and manage high-volume weekly service order billing across multiple service groups.

• Ensure accurate service order costing using standard cost accounting methodologies.
• Review and interpret service agreements to validate billing accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze and resolve billing discrepancies through research and collaboration with internal teams.
• Apply state-specific tax regulations and prevailing wage requirements to service work performed throughout New England.
• Maintain detailed records and ensure timely invoice generation.
• Partner with service, operations, and accounting teams to support efficient billing processes.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements that enhance accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of billing, bookkeeping, accounting support, and customer service experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar platforms.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
