Job summary

AOG Living in Lockhart, Texas is seeking a Maintenance Technician to prepare vacant apartment homes for move‑in and assist with pool maintenance and grounds keeping as needed. You will work under the supervision of the Community Manager and Lead Maintenance Technician, using hand and power tools to keep units in top condition.

Key duties include reviewing the make‑ready board, performing required repairs, applying touch‑ups and paint inside and outside units, cleaning out trash, inspecting

Qualifications

  • Must be skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user‑moved aids, mechanical equipment and measuring devices.
  • May be required to handle plumbing repairs, tile work, appliance repair, carpentry repairs, electrical repairs and all facets of apartment make‑ready.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical or other malfunctions and make repairs or correct problems.
  • Must be able to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions and plans.
  • Will interact with vendors, contractors, clients and all levels of employees. Therefore, must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to read and write in English in order to read diagrams, meters, instructions, etc.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws, OSHA Requirements and EEOC.
  • Must supply own tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vacant apartment homes for move‑in.
  • Review the make‑ready board and take direction from the Community Manager and/or Maintenance Manager to determine action to be taken on apartment homes.
  • Make all repairs/replacements necessary for unit to be occupied as outlined on the make‑ready checklist.
  • Apply touch‑up and full paints as needed to interior and exterior of apartment homes.
  • Clean out all trash from apartment homes before, during and after make‑ready activity.
  • Inspect completed apartment homes and schedule any necessary follow‑up work before designating the unit as “Ready”.

Qualifications
Education and Training

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Certifications and Memberships

Certifications as required by State and Local Jurisdictions.
