Job summary

AOG Living is seeking a Maintenance Technician to prepare vacant apartment homes for move-in and ensure standards are met. You will follow the make-ready board and coordinate with the Community Manager and Lead Maintenance Technician to complete repairs and inspections.

You will perform interior/exterior touch-ups, maintenance, and basic carpentry/plumbing as needed, and you must supply your own tools. English reading/writing is required, with knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certifications as required by State and Local Jurisdictions.
• Must supply own tools.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical or other malfunctions and repair them.
• Must be able to read and write in English to read diagrams, meters, instructions, etc.
• Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA Requirements, EEOC.

• Inspect completed apartment homes and schedule any necessary follow-up work before designation as “Ready”.

Job Summary

Essential Functions

• Prepare vacant apartment homes for move-in.
• Review the make-ready board and take direction from the Community Manager and/or Maintenance Manager to determine action to be taken on apartment homes.
• Make all repairs/replacements necessary for unit to be occupied as outlined on the make-ready checklist.
• Apply touch-up and full-paints as needed to interior and exterior of apartment homes.

Required Education And Training

DEGREES AND DIPLOMAS

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

TRAINING/CERTIFICATES/ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIPS

• Certifications as required by State and Local Jurisdictions.

Knowledge, Specific And Abilities.

• Must be skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user moved aids, mechanical equipment and measuring devices.
• May be required to handle plumbing repairs, tile work, appliance repair, carpentry repairs, electrical repairs and all facets of apartment make ready.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical or other malfunctions and make repairs or correct problems.
• Must be able to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions and plans.
• Will interact with vendors, contractors, Clients and all levels of employees. Therefore, must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to read and write in English in order to read diagrams, meters, instructions, etc.
