Job summary

JOEY Restaurants in Manhattan Beach is seeking a Service Assistant to support the restaurant service team and deliver a world-class hospitality experience.

No experience is required, but you must obtain current local Food Handler and California RBS certifications. You will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, standing and walking for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Must have or obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler and California Responsible Beverage Service certifications.
• Passion for hospitality and a proven track record of delivering world‑class hospitality.
• Thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
• Able to stand/walk for prolonged periods; frequent bending, reaching, stretching; lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide guests with friendly and attentive service throughout their dining experience.
• Assist servers to deliver exceptional service and a pristine environment.
• Clear and set tables in a timely manner.
• Monitor and assist with delivery of guest beverages and food orders.
• Maintain cleanliness by bussing tables and clearing glassware and dishes.
• Resolve service issues with urgency, poise, and good judgment.
• Complete opening/side work/closing duties and stock service stations.
• Assist guests at the front door, seating guests, and handling requests as needed.
• Enforce guest identification and alcohol service rules per state law.
• Follow all food and alcohol service safety procedures.

As a Service Assistant, you support the success of your restaurant service team. Wage Scale

Starting at $16.90 per hour. This position is eligible for tips.

Duties

• Provide guests with friendly and attentive service throughout their dining experience. Show them what Iconic Hospitality means!
• Assistservers in delivering exceptional service and a pristine environmentfor our guests.
• Clear and set tablesin a timely manner.
• Monitor andassistwith the delivery of guest beverage and food orders.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant by bussing tables of glassware, dishes, and cutlery.
• Resolve service issues and guest complaints with a sense of urgency, poise, and good judgment.It’sYour Business.
• Complete assigned opening, side work, and closing duties to set your team up for success. Stock, clean, and organize service stations and sections.
• Assisttheguestservicesteam with front door duties, seating guests, and other requests as needed.
• Reinforce guest identification requirements and age restrictions for alcohol salesin accordance withstate law.
• Follow all food and alcohol service and handling safety precautions and procedures.

Basic Qualifications

• No experience necessary.
• Must have or be able to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler and California Responsible Beverage Service certifications.
• Possess a passion for hospitality and a proventrack recordof creating world-class hospitality experiences.
• Thrive in adynamic,fast-paced work environment.
