Job summary

JOEY Restaurants in San Diego is seeking a Service Support (Steward) to support a busy dining room and dining service team. The role is paid hourly with tip eligibility and requires a customer-first hospitality mindset.

You will help servers, maintain a clean dining environment, and assist with setup and restocking to sustain seamless service. The position demands a positive attitude, ability to stand/walk for long periods, and a focus on safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced setting.

Wage Scale

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour. This position is eligible for tips.

As aService Support (Steward), you assist with the success of your restaurant service team. Your continual awareness of the restaurant environment allows you to anticipate the needs of your service team so they can maintain a seamless performance. Always on the move, you are proactive and efficient. You are driven by creating and continuously elevating a world-class hospitality experience for our guests.

Duties

• Provide guests with friendly and attentive service throughout their dining experience. Show them what Iconic Hospitality means!
• Assistservers and service assistants in delivering exceptional service and a pristine dining environmentfor our guests.
• Clear, clean, and set tables in a timely manner.
• Restock centerpiece, napkins, water pitchers, plates, cutlery, and glassware supplies.
• Empty and replace garbage bins at service stations.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant in any/all areas of the restaurant as needed, including the dining areas, lounge, patio, and exterior.
• Responsible for executing the daily/weekly restaurant cleaning schedules.
• Conduct regular restroom checks to uphold cleanliness and environmental standards, and clean and restock as needed.
• Follow all food and alcohol service and handling safety precautions and procedures.

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years customer serviceexperience(If you have high potential but less experience, we still want to meet you!).
• Must have or be able to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler and Alcohol Server/Seller permits.
• Possess a passion for hospitality and a proventrack recordof creating world-class hospitality experiences.
• Thrive in adynamic,fast-paced work environment.
• Be able towalk andstand for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, and stretching; repetitive manual tasks;and liftand carryup to50lbs.
