Job summary

Preston Automotive Group in Randallstown, MD seeks a Service Advisor to be the go-between for technicians and customers in our service department. You’ll explain technician recommendations and suggest maintenance to keep vehicles safe while delivering a superior guest experience.

You will greet guests, inspect vehicles, provide service estimates, and communicate with technicians and parts staff. The role requires strong communication, organization, and follow-up to ensure expectations are met.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and focus on guests when they arrive.
• Perform a vehicle walk-around and inspect every vehicle.
• Provide an estimate of the length of the service visit.
• Follow up with customers on status via preferred communication platform.
• Advise customers on recommended maintenance or repairs for safety and reliability.
• Communicate with technicians and parts staff to ensure accurate work orders.
• Meet or exceed targeted sales goals and upsell appropriate services.

What To Expect In This Role

• Review your appointments – some may be set by a BDC representative or dealership website.
• Greet and focus on customers when they arrive.
• Perform a vehicle walk-around and inspect every vehicle.
• Provide an estimate of the length of time the service visit will take.
• Follow up with customers on the status of their vehicle via their preferred communication platform.
• Advise customer of recommended maintenance or repair work needed to keep their vehicle safe.
• Communicate frequently with technicians and parts associates.
• Become an expert on product knowledge to assist with customer questions.
• Meet or exceed targeted sales goals.
• Follow up with customers post visit to ensure we met their expectations.
