Job summary

Proof of the Pudding partners with Zoo Atlanta for Special Events, delivering elegant catering in a wildlife-rich setting. The role focuses on precise table setting, buffet service, and smooth event execution, requiring organization, strong guest relations, and teamwork. Notably, you’ll operate mostly on-site at Zoo Atlanta venues with potential regional travel and a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of catering experience and/or food & beverage operations is required.
  • Knowledge of upscale/VIP service styles required.
  • Must live near or be willing to relocate to Atlanta, GA.
  • Must be a highly organized.
  • Must be friendly with a customer service mentality.
  • Must be a phenomenal team player.
  • Must have impeccable integrity for the business, the community, and the Proof of the Pudding team.

Responsibilities

  • Set tables completely according to diagram/sample.
  • Set up buffet stations including décor.
  • Arrange tables/chairs in event spaces and breakdown spaces.
  • Unload/load event trucks.
  • Serve and clear food and beverages professionally and quickly.
  • Coordinate with banquet team and front/back of house for flawless service.
  • Maintain grooming and personal hygiene.
  • Report to Captain and perform assigned tasks to ensure flawless events.
  • Perform other related duties as required

Proof of the Pudding is the proud and exclusive food & beverage partner for Zoo Atlanta’s Special Events, where elegant spaces meet wild places. Zoo Atlanta not only is home to a wide variety of animals; it is also home to some of the most stylish and unique event spaces in Atlanta.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure the setting of tables completely according to diagram and/or sample table.
  • Responsible for setting buffet stations which may include décor.
  • Responsible for setting up tables and chairs in event spaces and the breakdown of event spaces.
  • Responsible for unloading/loading event trucks.
  • Serve and clear food and beverage quietly, professionally, and quickly, using proper serving and clearing techniques.
  • Keep work area clean, and coordinate actions with the banquet team members, and all other members of the front and back of the house to ensure flawless customer service.
  • Maintain good grooming and personal hygiene.
  • Reporting to the Captain and preforming any task that they assign in order to execute a flawless event.

  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 40 lbs.
  • Renowned time management and organization skills.
  • Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to go above and beyond a client’s needs.
  • The ability to work alone and as a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Willing to drive a CMV is a plus.
Work Environment
  • This position will consist of event attendance, preparation, assist with set up, and breakdown.
  • This position works mostly out of and mainly stay within Zoo Atlanta but may travel to other venues within the region.
Uniform Requirements
  • Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of moving through an event space, and traveling from venue to venue.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 40 lbs.
