Job summary

Lure Fishbar in Chicago is seeking experienced Servers to join our front-of-house team. You will provide courteous, prompt tableside service with in-depth knowledge of our menu, wine, and beverages to create memorable experiences for guests.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in fine casual or fine dining, can work 3-5 shifts per week including nights and weekends, and bring a guest-first, team-oriented attitude. Mercer Street Hospitality supports growth and ongoing education for its employees.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of food and beverage menus, specials, and 86’d items.
• Greets and interacts with guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Coordinate with Server Assistant for a seamless dining experience.
• Maintain stocked, organized, and clean/sanitized section.
• Serve alcoholic beverages to guests who are 21 or older.
• Describe and walk guests through menu offerings and experience.
• Create personalized connections with guests/tables.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and respond with urgency.
• Follow Allergy & Re-Fire Procedures accurately.
• Accurately take guest orders and input them correctly.
• Communicate special needs/requests to kitchen and management timely.
• Perform proper tableside service procedures for all items.
• Process payments accurately and input tips correctly.
• Multitask, delegate, and communicate effectively and respectfully.
• Inform management of guest complaints and feedback.
• Maintain professional demeanor and appearance.

Server

It is the primary responsibility of the Server to accommodate guests while providing courteous and prompt tableside service personalized to each of their tables/guests. Walk guests through the experience from start to finish while exceeding guest expectations with thorough knowledge of food and beverage. Always having a professional and friendly tableside presence.

Duties:

• Maintains a thorough working knowledge of food and beverage menus, specials, and 86’d items.
• Greets and interacts with guests in a courteous and friendly manner, personalized to their tables/guests.
• Works with Server Assistant to coordinate a seamless and unintrusive dining experience for guests.
• Maintains a stocked, organized, and clean/sanitized section.
• Serves alcoholic beverages to guests who are 21 or older.

• Makes a connection with each of their guests/tables, creating a personalized experience.

• Communicates the special needs/requests of the guest to the kitchen and management in timely manner.
• Performs proper tableside service procedures for all food and beverage items.
• Processes Payments accurately, accounts for any cash payments, and inputs tips correctly.
• Ability to multitask, delegate, and communicate effectivelyand respectfully during service with team members.
• Informs Management of any guest complaints and/or negative comments/feedback.
• Always holds a professional and friendly demeanor.
• Follows uniform and appearance guidelines.
