Job summary

Luminarias in Monterey Park is seeking a Restaurant Server to provide courteous, efficient service and create a welcoming dining experience for guests. You will take and relay accurate orders, assist with menu knowledge, and contribute to a friendly, fast-paced environment.

The role requires at least 2 years of server experience, excellent communication, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Competitive pay is $16.90 per hour plus tips, with full-time benefits available.

Position Overview:

As a Restaurant Server, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests. Your primary responsibility will be to provide courteous, efficient, and attentive service while ensuring that guests feel welcome and comfortable throughout their visit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
• Present menus and provide detailed information about menu items, specials, and beverage options.
• Guide guests through the menu and experience and relay accurate food and beverage orders to the kitchen and bar staff promptly.
• Serve food and beverages in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to established service standards.
• Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to any requests or concerns.
• Ensure that all orders are accurate and complete before delivering them to guests.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including clearing and resetting tables as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with other team members to provide seamless service and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

Physical Demands:

• Regular lifting, moving and carrying of food items, furniture, garbage etc. weighing up to 30 pounds across the restaurant
• Regular and prolonged standing and walking inside and outside the restaurant during a 6-8 hour shift with appropriate breaks
• Regular ascending/descending stairs
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Frequent use of hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms

Licenses & Certifications Required:

• Food Handler Certificate
