Job summary

AMD is seeking a Principal System Debug Engineer to lead system-level debug of advanced microprocessors. You will bridge internal silicon/ software teams with OEM/ ODM and hyperscaler customers, guiding platform brings-up and issue resolution.

You will own debug methodologies, collaborate with Architecture, Firmware, OS/Kernel, and Validation teams, and engage with customers to drive robust solutions in complex environments. Hybrid work in Austin or San Jose.

Qualifications

• Deep technical expertise in CPU architecture and system-level debug.
• Experience with CPU silicon, platform hardware, firmware, drivers, and OS interactions.
• Strong leadership, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead triage, investigation, and root-cause analysis of complex CPU issues in customer environments.
• Drive early platform bring-up for next-gen CPUs at internal labs and customer sites.
• Serve as primary technical liaison for strategic customers on platform design and debugging.
• Collaborate with Silicon Design, Firmware, OS/Kernel, and Validation to enable systemic fixes.
• Architect advanced debug methodologies, scripts, and tools to accelerate isolation.
